This rifle was widely associated to US special operation forces and US Army Rangers from the 2008-2010 era being fielded in very limited numbers. It was the rifle that could have become the future of the U.S. military by way of SOCOM, but at the end, it was rejected due to fragility and reliability issues... but FN has spend the time since then working out a lot of the product issues and offering it to the civilian market amongst other foreign governments (like the Belgian military and special operations forces).
